(Rochester Hills, Michigan) – Trico Products today announced receiving the Performance Award in the 2010 Automotive Aftermarket Expo (AAPEX) New Packaging Showcase.
Judges recognized TRICO’s new optimized, clear shell design, which allows customers a 360-degree view of the product. Engineered to provide a maximum area for branding with no plastic waste, the updated packaging boasts bigger and bolder graphics. A sturdy, new dropped hinge secures the product safely while allowing for quick opening and a striking look.
“Emphasis on the performance of the package─rather than the product─made Exact Fit® an easy winner,” said Ben Miyares, managing director of the Packaging Management Institute and a judge in the 2010 competition. “The clamshell design in a category where blisters are the norm works well.”
Entries in the performance category of the 2010 AAPEX New Packaging Showcase were required to demonstrate advanced designs that allow packages to be easily filled, opened, dispensed, reclosed and stored. They should also run on existing packaging machinery, integrate easily into an existing distribution system, and offer significant new benefits in handling, storage and warehousing.
This year’s New Packaging Showcase was conducted by AAPEX in association with the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and its member organizations: the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) and the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI). AAPEX presented packaging awards in six categories: performance, innovation, protection, economics, marketing and environmental impact.
