Saturday marked a day to forget for Murray, with tyre pressure issues in qualifying making it a very difficult day taking off from P18.
Although the track was declared wet well in advance of the race start, all 23 cars started on dry tyres with a dry line forming on the racing line, and the race would run without rain. Throughout the race, Murray pushed forward despite lengthy delays with two safety cars and moved up 5 spots to finish P13 in Race 7.
On Sunday, Murray recovered well in Qualifying and began Race 8 from the second row in P3. As the lights went out, Murray had a great start off of the line and shot into P2. He would go on to later challenge for the race lead in his #88 Flair Dancewear Commodore in the final green flag stage at Turn 11, but ultimately crossed the line in second.
"Saturday was a day to forget, tyre pressure issues in qualifying made it a very difficult day. Luckily on Sunday we got another chance and to finish second in the race was a good recovery. Massive thank you again to Flair Dancewear and Page Bros RV for the support this weekend!”
